Ethics in education

At Old Plank Christian Academy, all instructional personnel, educational support employees, and administrators are required to complete training on standards of ethical conduct, as a condition of employment. Our policy is guided by the following:

 

(Florida Statutes – Section 39.201). (a) Any person, including but not limited to any physician, osteopathic physician, medical examiner, chiropractic physician, nurse, or hospital personnel engaged in the admission, examination care, or treatment of persons (b) School teacher or other school official personnel, Social worker, day care center worker, or other professional child care, foster care, residential, or institutional worker, who knows, or has reasonable cause to suspect, that a child is abused, abandoned, or neglected by a parent, legal custodian, caregiver, or other person responsible for the child’s welfare shall report such knowledge or suspicion to the department in the manner prescribed in subsection. Each report of known or suspected child abuse, abandonment, or neglect pursuant to this section, except those solely under s.827.04(3) shall be made immediately to the department’s central abuse hotline on the single statewide toll free phone number 800-962-2873.
